El col·lectiu artístic rus voina (guerra) ha tornat a
realitzar una acció.
Aquesta vegada, no s’acaba d’entendre on és el límit o si
forma part d’un acte artístic o ja rebel.
El grup va irrompre amb còctels molotov el pas d’una
camioneta de policia utilitzada pel transport de presoners i donant el missatge
de que es tractava d’un regal a tots els presos polítics de rússia.
El grup es va fer conegut per pintar un immens fal·lus amb
colors florescents al pont llevadís liteyney o el projecte how to snatch a chicken en el que s'introduïen trossos de pollastre dins del sexe femení. Així mateix ha guanyat el premi a
la innovació del controvertit i polèmic del govern rus i els han nomenat
comissaris associats de la biennal de berlín 2012. El grup es nega a cooperar
amb les institucions estatals o privades i sovint minimitza la importància
artística dels seus actes. En l'actualitat s'enfronten a la possibilitat de
llargues penes de presó per les seves accions.
The Russian artivist group Voina (War) has released a statement claiming responsibility for the firebombing of a police van used in the transportation of prisoners during the recent anti-government rallies in St Petersburg. The group claim that they broke into Precinct No.71 and, using Molotov cocktails, set fire to the parked vehicle causing significant damage as 'a gift to all political prisoners of Russia.' Famed for such actions as painting a phallus on the Liteyny drawbridge, the group has drawn widespread national and international attention leading to them controversially winning the Russian government art prize Innovation 2010 and being appointed associate curators of the Berlin Biennial 2012. The group claim to refuse to cooperate with state or private institutions and often play down the artistic significance of their acts. Currently they face the possibility of lengthy jail terms for their actions.
